Let’s face it, we Warmachine & Hordes players are a feisty bunch. We have pent up energy just waiting to explode onto the battlefield in the form of steam and fury. We are also passionate. Passionate about our game and passionate about our gaming community.

And most of us are unselfish, as well.

So why not put that feroicity into something your community can benefit from?

This was the idea behind the Harvest Thralls. In 2005-2006, a handful of fervent Warmachine players decided to use the metal-smashing madness of a Warmachine tournament as an opportunity to collect canned goods for local food pantries in a time where it was needed the most: late fall/early winter. In the place of an entry fee, local Press Gangers and Warmachine fans welcomed canned goods to participate in a unique event that would help those less fortunate than ourselves.

The response was overwhelming.

And what was born was:

This was a unique gaming event using canned goods for in-game effects to drive up donations. You want a 9 focus Severius? Better bring more baked beans. Want that MAT 3 Destroyer’s Bombard to hit? Spend a creamed corn to boost it.

And now the Harvest Thalls, along with the support of Privateer Press, would like to bring this event to your local community. In 2007, we are extending the invitation to both Warmachine and Hordes, as well as making this a nationwide event. In order to equally include both games, we’re calling this all encompassing event a

Thrall Harvest

So if you think you got what it takes to bring the metal and guts to the tabletop in order to benefit your community’s food bank, join up and…
